CCR #1 Research

 Question #1 for CCR:

"How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?"

Major points to talk about in CCR:

  • My genre is slice of life
  • issues represented: procrastination, stress
  • key themes of teen in slice of life include handling peer pressure, insecurities, and forming identity. My film opening follows the outline of showing the struggles but focuses on procrastination, which in media for teens are not represented very often. Even when it is shown, it often gets played off as "laziness" and put aside.
  • Procrastination and laziness if often mixed up in media. Some background information: procrastination is when one had the intend to do and complete a task but has internal factors stopping them. For example, needing things to go in a perfect order/ time(shown in my film opening) or being scared to mess up. Where as laziness is when the individual has no intension what so ever to finish or even start a task.
  • Procrastination being represented as it is in real life in media is often rare, especially when it comes to teens; it is perceived as laziness. In reality it goes much deeper than just that.
  • My film opening focuses on showing how procrastination can create stress and stop a person from enjoying their time.

See you on the next one,
