Portfolio Project Genre #2

Hi welcome back. Today I will be diving into the genre 'slice of life'.

    Slice of life presents everyday moments, emphasizing on the emotions of the character rather than the plot. Although it does have a minimal plot line. Slice of life prioritizes realism of the character, their emotions, and overall story. 

    Audience of this genre tend to be teens, 13 to early 20s. Viewers who enjoy emotional depth, realism, realism, value character driven story over plots twists or action, people who enjoy watching everyday experiences, and relatability. The content that slice of life includes focus on everyday life, growing up- physically or mentally, friendships and relationships, loneliness, self identity, daily routine, etc. Characters' growth is gradually presented. Setting includes: home, school, cafe, neighborhoods, small town. Techniques being utilized: slow editing, dialogues, mid shots, long shots, focus on body language.

    Narrative image is perceived as real, relatable, or emotional. Marketing includes trailers which focuses on the atmosphere and what already trying to create that relatable connection with the audience to the character. Posters with soft and/or natural color scheme.

Revolves around feelings and heavily emotion driven.

Shows the harsh reality that some people have to face.
(I would highly recommend this!!! It's on Netflix, one of the best films I have seen.)
